Here are some prototypes and digital trials that we made after the meeting we had this morning. As my printer has trouble in printing ink evenly, I asked Theodora to make print the pictures out and make some physical prototypes so that we will might have more ideas on further developments.
Idea1
This is out film pockets idea, printing out the photos that we took in a tiny size and slip it into film pockets. The pictures were inverted to mimic film negatives. The concept is to have the photos downsize into tiny blocks and arouse audience's curiosity to look closer into the details on each photos. San Po Kong is an important industrial area in Hong Kong, but it is an unfamiliar place to most people in HK. This idea is to use the red bucket (the origin of red buckets is primarily produced in SPK) as a metaphor of San Po Kong, and have audience to find out ways that we can utilise a red bucket by having the self initiative to look closer and find out more.

Idea2
This idea is developed from the film pocket one. Photos we took are downsized into tiny blocks, making each photo look structural and repetitive. So when you first look at it, everything looks similar and has nothing special, like the mundane stuff we saw every day. However, when you get a closer look, each photo is actually showing different ways to utilise the red bucket. The idea is to reveal the multifuntionality of the red bucket and inspire people to think more about how they could utilise the red bucket. The red bucket also represents San Po Kong, a place that bears a big responsibility in primary production in early Hong Kong, but people were not aware of it and the place is always being forgotten.
Idea3 A flap book with parts that could be flipped on each page. Photos of a red bucket would be revealed. This method is also to arouse curiosity and to make it exciting and interactive.
Idea4
Publication inspired by children's book, with a red bucket as an additional element for audience to place on each page and to look for fun ways to utilise the bucket.
Thoughts
We both liked the fall book a lot, we thought the mini photos one would look cool too, but turns out the flap book idea looked the best. I am thinking instead of making a book, we could make it into a poster and actually stick it on the streets of San Po Kong. We will further discuss ideas tomorrow in person.
