[LARP6SARP3_BRANDING] visual research + Logotype development

 

Sonja and I looked at a lot of different people's work before starting. We have similar tastes and we created a moodpboard and pasted all work that we found interesting in it. We tried taking inspirations from them and look for the best aesthetic we would like to build. From looking at the moodboard, I think we are looking for something leaning on the hand drawn, raw and texturised side instead of a really digital and refined side. 

We image traced the sketches that Sonja did and tried playing around with negative space. After image tracing the drawing, the edges are smoothen and we thought it looked quite interesting. It looked a lot more digitalised and less textured. 

Tried another approach by using an existing typeface and recreate it. I drew a typeface based on the online of the bespoke font. I really like the outcome, it looks a lot more smoother with round edges and I tilt the letters to create a more fun looking design. 

We also tried the plucker effect from AI and other different distorting effects to create texture. 

Apart from using a rubbish bag as the main element, we also thought of using a rubbish bin. We also did some initial sketches and tried different variations.
