As TRASH was the first name that we came up with, we started making visuals based off the word TRASH. We took the significant orange trash cans on the streets in Hong Kong as reference to developing our logo.
As the theme of the market is a bit of a cyber and y2k vibe, we tried going for that design style, however we it is not something that we both usually make in our own design practice. therefore we have decided not to limit ourselves by the theme.
I also tried to develop the logotype with the Chinese of trash. and played around with placing characters around, making different variations.
As for the logo and illustrative elements, we developed some elements based off the idea of trash, trash cans, and germs. These are just some outcomes from our first logotype brainstorming. We communicated through Skype and sharing our screens when we had an idea. To be honest ww were a bit stuck as we were trying to limit ourselves by the theme of the market and kind of forcing ourselves to make something that we do not normally do.
