Part One
In the beginning I was a bit lost. All I have got in mind was Verdy and Jerry whom I have already. researched into in the previous brief. I began to acknowledged that I am not looking at enough amount of people's work. I do not want to repeat the stuff that I research into as it sounds boring. I began to panic and did not know where to start. I then began to scroll through Instagram and look at posts that I saved that are art and design related. I found some stuff that I appreciated a lot and have forgotten.
1. @frankleboner (b. London, 1993)

Not before this research, I realised that the ahem frankleboner comes directly from his real name Frank Lebon with an er at the end. Love this way of naming himself on social media, making his name sounds way more fun and significant. Frank is a director and a photographer with a strong perusal style. In his art account @frankleboner, he posts some of his work and I believe the account is a really big part of his personal branding and his work exposure. In his captions, he never writes a long paragraph explaining his concept, instead, he includes that date of creation and a few words about the work's title and people he collaborated with in the projects.
In his website, he describes his work as transcends distinction between graphic design, drawing, photo, video, animation and collage. I personally think that his collage work dominates most of his work and his personal branding. Lebon's aesthetic is characterised by ambitious camera work and a meticulous editing process. His methods go beyond the limitations of a project, crating images the melt the possible with the impossible.
Personally, I think his work has a great film element in it. They all look grainy, with a raw and organic aesthetic which looks really cool to me. He makes good u se of collaging and layering methods, some multimedia approach to texturise flat pictures and strengthening the concept in his photography. I can see that working physically with materials, collaging them is his main creative process, while the stage of making it digital is just a way to pull things together and. the final stage of polishing them and presenting them in social media.

2. @luke___casey
website: https://lukecasey.com
Luke is a director and photographer based between London and Hong Kong. I have been following him for quite a while as I am really interested in artists and designers in the local creative industry. It is his IG feed that caught my attention. He mainly posts his work and some of his daily life photography with friends. His Instagram is a mix of his perennial life and his work portfolio.
In his portfolio website, There are photos that he took and videos that he participated in the directing work. There are no captions nor descriptions about the images. I think portfolio websites like this makes people focus on the work's aesthetic and style in a whole.
I think the most significant concept in Luke's work is exploring identity. As he is a London creator who lives in Hong Kong for most of his time, identity should be a big question mark for him too. He incorporates his thoughts and self expression in his work and visualises them through photography and videography. His point of view of being a foreign but not foreign artist in Hong Kong adds depth in his work.
By looking at his IG, I feel likes Luke has an artistic style and takes random photos of his friends and the environment. He makes good use of the surroundings and environment in Hong Kong and make content out of it. I feel like his photography has a tourist vibe in it. He is trying to view Hong Kong as a tourist, which he is, and blending in with local the artists community to create work that is both tourisy and local.
