We met Gillian at 2pm at a mall near my home. This time, we have a friend tagging along as we need someone to drive and we thought having someone who knows how to take decent photos would be good for us. We targeted the small goldfish pools and paid for a couple of slots for the shoot. We asked for permission and shoot some pictures with flash on.
As we had no experience in this kind of shoots, this was a bit more challenging as we realised that a black tee does not absorb lights and it is difficult to take good pictures with the product being captured clearly. We took pictures fo the black tee for. around an hour and ended up asking Gillian to get change onto the white one. After changing into the white one, things got a lot more smoother. We also went upstairs to these claw crane area. Took many pictures with the dolls reflected on the machine service, creating a messy and bombard feeling as we planned.
We then bought some food at the mall as it is a really famous place with many street food. The process went on really well and really casual like having out with a bunch of friendly, wandering around eating food. It was exactly what we wanted the atmosphere to be. We then drove to the west Kowloon promenade for the second part fo the shoot. It rained and we kind of panicked for bit. But then it turned out the rain helped a lot in creating that lonely and tranquil feeling. Plus it was already nighttime, which makes the atmosphere even more deserted and empty.
We ended the shoot there and had a lot of quality pics taken. We played around with different camera settings and angles and ended up getting unexpected results. We took most of the pictures with flash on as we did look at people's fashion photography work and we both liked pictured taken with flash more as it gives off a more street vibe.
Same, Sonja did the first elimination and sent over the photos. I then organised them into folders and chose the ones that looked best to me. Here are some chosen ones.
