[LIVE BRIEF] Patterns

The design process has been super slow as I have been working on my COP and things are getting too much for me. Also, we are working from home which means time management I really important. I have been planning to finish my COP in a few days so that there will be time for me to focus on my internship work and to update my boss on my progress.

Its been a week since the project started and I have been drawing food nonstop. Most of them are semi-done and needed for my boss to approve. I then thought of the presentation of the food pyramid.

1. Putting all foods into one section

It would be too crowded to touch and differentiate different items.

2. Choosing 1-2 items as representation of each item

This would be a lot better, but how do I show other items? I would be really confusing if other items are put on other pages.

Therefore, in order to make it easier for students to read, patterns are decided to represent each section. They drawn to indicate each category of food the pyramid. 6 different patterns are made to represent each section.

I tired out many patterns randomly and thought that it would be better to choose the patterns according to the textures and the forms of the categories.

grains: dots

vegetables: horizontal lines?

fruits: triangles

dietary products: wavy lines

Lean meat, fish: straight lines?

sugar, salt, oil: crosses
